The Fourth Annual Thomas C. Urso Memorial Golf Outing for Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation was held on October 1st at Tuckaway Golf Club in Crete, IL. The rain stayed away this year as 128 golfers enjoyed a great day of golfing for this great cause. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated as we raised $30,000 for Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation. Bear Cartage would like to say thank you to all of the owner operators that have helped make Bear Cartage one of the leaders in the intermodal industry. We are proud of the fact that we have drivers that have been with us since the compnay opened it's doors in 1994. In the picture to the right, we have a few of our drivers that have been with Bear for over sixteen years. Listed from left to right are: Wes Kowal (17 years), Jamie Schmidt (Operatons Manager), Bob Urso (General Manager), Khaled Sulieman (16 Years), Judy Garcia (Safety Director), Nick Urso (President), Sam Dallash (16 years), Leo Parra (16 years) and Stan Krzak (17 years).

Congratultions to our soccer team that finished with one win, one loss and a tie in the Compass Soccer Tournament on August Twentieth. During the tournament, Bear had a sponsor table and passed out company information and gifts to prospective drivers. Thank you to everyone who participated in the weekend activities.
Bear Cartage would like to thank all of our customers and employees who came out to Rosemont and saw the Chicago Bandits take on the USSSA Pride. The Bandits did not win the game, but everybody in attendance enjoyed the atmosphere and comradery.
Bear Cartage would like to welcome and introduce Jamie Schmidt as our new Operations Manager. We are all excited to be working with Jamie and believe she will be an asset to both Bear and our customers.

Christmas 2010 presented Wes Kowal (Truck # 1019) and Stan Krzak (Truck # 1055) special gifts for being Bear's longest contracted Owner Operators and Cathy Williams for being the longest Bear employee. Bear is very proud of these outstanding individuals for starting on with Bear Cartage when the late Tom Urso opened the doors in 1994. Bear looks forward to working with these team members to help the company grow in the upcoming years.
Improvements made to the weight room facility for Bear employees
Bear Cartage is the official trucking company for the Chicago Bandits of the National Fastpitch Softball League. Bear Cartage has worked with the Bandits since their inaugural season in 2005. We look forward to working with the organization in 2011.
