Safety and Human Resources

Here at Bear, it is of the highest priority to put safe, reliable drivers on the road. This is the job of our Safety Department staffed by Bob Urso, Judy Garcia and Mary Ortiz. Their duties include the hiring of new drivers and Owner Operators, insuring that all paperwork and vehicle maintenance is up to date, as well as controlling the trucks in our company fleet.

Safety is of the utmost importance at Bear Cartage. We take the time to make sure that each and every driver we put on the road is familiar with all DOT regulations as well as safe driving techniques. We have a driver training room where our Safety department can show videos, have presentations and meetings to keep our drivers aware of upcoming expiration of their licenses, physicals, and truck inspections. A quarterly safety meeting is held for the drivers and owner operators where they are kept up to date on any new and necessary info.
